IAA Fireside Chat with Shreyasi Jha


"The IAA is back and hosting the first episode of one-on-one “Fireside Chats” in the new year with representatives from government and industry self-regulation from around the world to discuss the advertising issues affecting marketers globally and how governments and industry can best collaborate to create a regulatory environment that both protects consumers and allows brands to thrive. 



In this fireside chat, IAA talks with Shreyasi Jha, Senior Gender Advisor, UNICEF about UNICEF’s new report, “Promoting diversity and inclusion in advertising: a UNICEF playbook” which provides guidance about how to avoid stereotyping in advertising that can have a harmful impact on a child’s well-being and development.

More About Our Speakers:

Shreyasi Jha is a senior gender and social inclusion expert, thought leader, and development manager with extensive experience in the UN, World Bank, and international policy think tanks promoting women and girls’ empowerment. She is currently a Senior Gender Advisor with UNICEF Headquarters. Before joining UNICEF, Shreyasi was a Senior Research Fellow at Stanford University’s Center for Human Rights and International Justice. In the past, Shreyasi has led women’s empowerment and social inclusion initiatives at UNDP, UN Women, and the World Bank. Shreyasi has a Ph.D. in Public Policy, Masters in Politics and Economics; and an extensive publication record in measurement and evaluation.

Jeffrey A. Greenbaum is the Managing Partner of Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz since 2010 and is one of the leading advertising lawyers in the United States of America. He is a partner in the firm's Advertising, Marketing & Public Relations Group and has extensive experience representing advertisers, advertising agencies, and media companies on advertising, branded entertainment, and intellectual property matters. He is also the Chairman of the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance and is a member of the Board of the International Advertising Association and the Chair of the IAA’s Public Policy Council.
