In this first webinar Evolving Online Advertising Regulation, a panel of advertising law experts from around the world will discuss the latest developments in online advertising around the world, the impact of new laws and regulations on advertisers, best practices for compliance, and thoughts about change that is needed.

Brad Weltman who currently serves as Director – Privacy and Public Policy Council at Facebook will moderate the panel. Prior to joining Facebook, Brad served as Vice President of Public Policy for the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB). Earlier in his career, Brad served as senior advisor to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and as a fellow on the Senate HELP Committee.


Dr. Søren Pietzcker is a Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek PartGmbB in Hamburg, where he is in charge of the Intellectual Property and Advertising Law department. As an Intellectual Property and Advertising Law lawyer he focuses on advising clients in the manufacturing industry as well as in the service industry including advertising agencies on all aspects of advertising law, unfair competition law, trademark law, and other aspects of Intellectual Property protection. This includes the responsibility for the application, opposition, maintenance and defence of national trademarks, European Union marks and International Registrations as well as trademark infringement litigation, especially by way of preliminary injunctions.


Maria Ostashenko is a Partner at ALRUD Law Firm, heading Commercial, Intellectual Property and Data Protection and Cybersecurity practice areas. Leading team of Commercial practice Maria advises ALRUD clients on managing credit risks of parties, on forms of legal presence and models of conducting business in Russia, supports launching start-ups and implementation of complex projects related to international contracts. In the Intellectual property area Maria renders legal support for formalizing IP rights, use, management and protection of brands and intangible assets, conducting marketing campaigns and advertising. She possesses extensive experience of resolving disputes regarding intellectual property, including alternative dispute resolution.

Kanu Priya is an Advocate, Registered Indian Patent Agent and Partner at Kan And Krishme. She has an extensive experience in handling IPR, Advertising & Marketing matters for both domestic and international companies. She routinely advises clients on a wide variety of advertising, media and marketing laws related matters, including sweepstakes, promotions and contests. She also counsels clients on issues related to influencer marketing, native advertising, comparative advertising, bait advertising, puffery, surrogate advertising, advertisements targeted at children, celebrity and expert endorsements. She develops and reviews clients’ social media and influencer policies and reviews clients’ social media campaigns, websites, apps and privacy policies to ensure compliance with relevant Indian laws. She also counsels clients on right of privacy and publicity, telemarketing, direct mail, email marketing and copyright matters.

Ricardo Alberto Antequera H. is the Managing Partner at Antequera Parilli & Rodriguez. He has more than 25 years of experience in the field of Intellectual Property, Entertainment and Advertising Law. He has provided advice and developed strategies for transactions and litigation related to trademarks, copyright, unfair competition, advertising, data protection, privacy, and entertainment. He is a mediator and arbitrator for the Arbitration Center of the Chamber of Commerce of Caracas and also for the Business Center of Conciliation and Arbitration (CEDCA), Legal Director of the Venezuelan Chamber of Franchises (PROFRANQUICIAS), ambassador for intellectual property matters of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and professor on Advertising and Intellectual Property Law.

Hande Hançar joined the Gün + Partners in 2005 and has been a partner since 2014. She is co-chair of the firm’s intellectual property and technology, media & telecommunication practices. She advises on intellectual property, both contentious and non-contentious matters relating to trademarks, copyrights, industrial designs, domain names and unfair competition. She has extensive litigation experience and has counselled numerous foreign clients on IP strategies, legal disputes, licensing and settlement agreements. Hande has also acted on behalf of originators in numerous complex patent infringement and validity actions in the pharmaceutical industry and assisted clients in drafting complex software and patent license contracts. Within the scope of the technology, media & telecommunication practice group, Hande provides support to clients on consumer law particularly for labelling and product liability issues, commercial communication and advertising, data protection and ensuring that their products and services are compliant with the Turkish regulatory regime.
